A Joyful Path

Aspen Community United Methodist Church is pleased to announce our new Thursday afternoon children’s program—A Joyful Path—a spiritual curriculum for young hearts and minds. This innovative after-school program is designed for children ages 6-10.

I am very excited about being able to offer A Joyful Path to the children of our community. It is truly inspiring for both teacher and student. It is inclusive, inter-spiritual, joy-full, feeling based, nature inspired, and intelligent. Lessons draw upon biblical parables, international folktales and biographies of well-known personalities such as Thomas Edison, George Washington Carver and Rachel Carson.

A Joyful Path is progressive in its approach to affirming life, the value of all persons, the stories of Jesus, and a growing understanding of who and what God may be in an age of increased understanding of the world. If this is what you have in mind for your child, we invite you to consider this educational program at the Aspen Community Church.

The program will run November 4, 2010 through April 2011 from approximately 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays. Qualified personnel will lead the program and participate with your child. Our staff will meet the Aspen Elementary School bus at the nearest bus stop (across from the Red Brick Center for the Arts) and escort children to the church at 200 East Bleeker Street, just a half block away. Healthy snacks will be provided.

COST
Cost for the 21-week program is $300 for the first child and $275 for each additional child in your family. We would be happy to talk with you about the program and answer any questions you may have. You may enroll at the church office or here. The registration deadline is October 15, 2010.
